Classification Information

Class [041]
Wounds 2 Wings Trauma and Embodiment Association of Ontario (TEAO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community connections within educational institutions, organizational staff, frontline workers, and community leaders-especially those engaged with racialized and oppressed communities. Our mission involves providing innovative Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) training, addressing workplace racism through our Embodiment Training Workshops and Responsive Care and Impact Awareness Training, with an anticipated outreach to train up to 200 individuals. Our current training initiatives aim to deconstruct power dynamics, redefining and empowering management, leadership roles and frontline workers. By addressing stigmatization, we strive to cultivate environments that break the cycle of trauma within communities, with the goal of contributing to systemic change. TEAO seeks to trademark the statement 'Do Better' as a representation of our commitment to fostering deep self-reflection, personal growth, and continuous improvement. This trademark is particularly aligned with our culturally competent training efforts in predominantly white-led spaces and/or for individuals working with racialized and oppressed communities. We all have "unconsciously rooted" stories. These stories are connected to our bodies and communicated through the unspoken language shared between us. For example, feelings of discomfort, excess comfort, guilt, shame, anger, and fear, when left unconscious, can inadvertently be projected into our diverse community spaces. Once conscious, we can bring these feelings to visibility by being authentic in the shared experience. In our commitment to authentic engagement, we emphasize the importance of individuals becoming conscious of the impact they wield on others. Through this awareness, we advocate for a commitment to 'Do Better.' Our training aims to go beyond theoretical knowledge; we believe effective Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) training means being aware of and understanding our own stories and how they influence those around us.
