The mark consists of a tan square outlined in a thin black line with a thin gold line forming an inner square which surrounds a black sketch of an outdoor scene and the following words: "COGNAC LEYRAT" above the words "DOMAINE DE CHEZ MAILLARD" above the words "COMMUNE CLAIX, DEPARTMENT CHARENTE" and "PAYS FRANCE". The words "CLAIX, CHARENTE" and "FRANCE" are written in script along black horizontal lines. Next to "FRANCE" in red appears the wording "PRODUIT DE FRANCE". To the right a red circle surrounds the words "MIS EN BOUTEILLE AU DOMAINE" in red and with red letters and numbers along the inside of the circle. A black rectangle appears below the tan square with a thin gold line forming an inner rectangle which surrounds the words "PRODUCE OF FRANCE" in gold, "DISTILLED AND BOTTLED ON THE ESTATE" in tan and "CLAIX - 16440 CHARENTE" in gold.

The mark consists of the three-dimensional product packaging of the goods which is a black bottle that has a black cap and cork. There is a silver cross outlined in black with black distressing centered on the front of the bottle. There is a silver trapezoid-shaped label which is outlined in black centered on the bottom of the back of the bottle. The label has a black sideways cross design in each of the two upper corners with the word "COGNAC" in black centered at the top of the label. The wording "D'USSE XO" appears in black centered in the middle of the label. The wording "CHATEAU DE COGNAC" and "FRANCE" appears in black across the bottom portion of the label.
