Currently, LMN operates through senior volunteers, hired project coordinators and donations from local community organizations. The proposed project will be run by hired seniors, alongside project coordinators, who will lead sessions for development and engagement of other seniors within vulnerable communities. LMN is currently functioning in Hamilton, Ontario. At LMN we believe in not only providing seniors with an active day to day living but also enhancing and modifying their lifestyle to lead a better quality of life. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, happy and engaging healthy lifestyle to seniors in different communities. Pursuant to the vision that we hold for the community as envisaged hereinabove, we would like to provide the details of the activities that we offer to seniors of the community in order to elevate their daily living and ensure that they lead a dignified lifestyle: - Remote monitoring of members' health metrics like blood pressure and heart rate - Yoga and meditation classes to enhance flexibility, strength, and balance while promoting relaxation and reducing stress. - Customized nutritious meal plans that cater to members' dietary needs and preferences - Neurobic activities and mindfulness games that enhance brain functions fostering cognitive abilities and mental agility. - Picnics, park tours, and outdoor recreation activities to engage seniors in the nature - Our comprehensive transportation services provide convenient door-to-door mobility, ensuring seamless travel for all individuals. - Skills and development courses for seniors focusing on financial literacy, ESL classes, mental health awareness, awareness on management of chronic illnesses etc. Social isolation is an emerging cause of declining mental health among seniors in Canada. Keeping this in mind, the seniors program at LMN encourages community involvement and social engagement to promote quality social interaction, help them learn specific long term life skills, and an environment conducive to healthy living patterns. | |
