Establishment, operating and management of an association representing information processing or systems professionals in Canada; liaison services in relation to associations representing information processing or systems professionals in countries other than Canada, namely, sending and receiving information regarding information technologies (I.T.), creating exchange and reciprocity programs and entering international agreement relating to I.T.; providing educational training, consulting and counselling services to persons in the information technology industry and information profession; representing the voice of the information processing or systems professionals to government, industry associations and other professions; establishing, developing, managing and operation of a code of professional conduct, common body of knowledge and admission criteria relating to the information processing or systems profession in Canada; establishing, maintaining and operating disciplinary proceedings related to breaches of the code of conduct by information processing or systems professionals in Canada; liaison with regional, provincial and local chapters and affiliates of the Canadian Information Processing Society throughout Canada; providing awards honoring excellence and outstanding achievement in the field of information systems, information technology and service to the information processing or systems profession and otherwise; provision of services in relation to associations representing information processing or systems professionals in countries other than Canada, namely, providing information to members relating to status of I.T. in other countries than Canada; providing and publishing directories; publishing materials in printed and electronic form related to issues affecting the information processing or systems profession and the information technology industries; and maintaining and disseminating data relating to the I.T. industries and information processing or systems profession, namely, maintaining members personal details database for internal use and statistic and demographic purposes.
