The words Avantage GAP set a standard in the agriculture industry by providing food producers with guidance on how to implement food safety practices for agricultural food production that is based on a) industry's best practices for food producers; b) internationally recognized Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point ("HACCP") protocol; c) consideration of federal, provincial and local regulations for food producers; c) the need for ongoing monitoring of food production standards; and d) proven and accepted methods based on Avantage GAP that help to reduce food safety hazards and to train employees with respect to good agricultural practices.
